What does the Bible say about man as the leader of the wife?
Is the husband the spiritual leader of a family?
The simple answer is yes.
God has positioned man as the head of the family.
He has given him authority to navigate issues in marriage.
Thankfully, there are many bible verses about man as the leader of the wife we can learn from.
These scriptures explain that the man is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the man.
So is there no room for a woman to make decisions?
What then are the roles of a wife in marriage?
The truth is, from the world’s creation, God limited women’s role in marriage to a help mate.
And that’s why Paul explicitly states that women must submit to their husbands.
In other parts of the new testament, Paul even states that “women should keep silent in the churches.”
Any of the above could easily be misinterpreted as slavery, but the truth is, if every man loves their wife as their own flesh, submission happens spontaneously.
I have put together bible verses about the husband as head of the wife. Read and be blessed.
Bible Verses about Man As Leader Of Wife.
1 Timothy 2:12.
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[a] she must be quiet.
This is one of the most relevant bible verses about man as the leader of the wife.
The Bible is clear from the beginning that the man is the head of the family.
God created the man first before the woman.
And when the man was lonely, God saw that it was essential for him not to be alone.
So, he caused the man into a deep sleep and took a rib from his bones to make the woman.
This bible verse teaches us that a woman’s roles in marriage are restricted.
There are no other ways to sugarcoat God’s position on the leadership of a home.
These days, some women are pastors, while others are leaders in the church.
But As Christians, we must understand and accept God’s laws.
God has a plan for humanity and expects every woman to be submissive to her husband.
God has not given women the opportunity to lead.
They must learn and be submissive to their husbands.
They also have no authority to teach a man.
They must be quiet in everything.
The man is the leader and must be in charge of every decision in the family.
1 Corinthians 14:34.
34 Women[a] should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.
Does this bible verse not contradict what some women do in the churches today?
Some women have grown so prominent in the churches that they are now pastors.
Some are now leaders over men because they believe they understand the Bible better.
But is that the will of God?
Paul is clear from this bible verse that a man must be the head.
A man must be the spiritual leader of the family.
There is no room for women to take a man’s leadership position.
If the woman wishes to ask the husband any question in the church, she must first be quiet and wait until they get home.
It is a shame and a sin for a woman to speak in the church.
But this is not exactly as it is done in the churches today.
The concept of women pastors and priest are beginning to evolve and become accepted.
But can we make our own Laws?
Should we disregard God’s position on the authority of a man?
If we do, we are not keeping the laws of God.
So, every woman must learn in silence and submit to man’s authority.
God has not commanded the woman to teach a man, regardless of her knowledge.
God has not made the woman the spiritual leader of the home, irrespective of whether she is more knowledgeable than the man.
She must not teach, and she must not lead a man.
This bible verse also goes further t ensure that a woman remains in insubmission.
A woman but be entirely submissive to God.
While some may see this as derogatory, we are not in any position to make decisions for God.
We are not in any position to criticize the commandments of God.
If God says, do not steal, we have no reason to judge him.
If God says a woman must be submissive, then she must be submissive.
1 Corinthians 11:3.
3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,[a] and the head of Christ is God.
From the onset of the world, God has planned everything perfectly.
He is the almighty and the alpha and omega.
He is the beginning and the end.
God is the head of Christ, as Christ is the head of the church and man.
But in the family and the world, the man is the head of the woman.
The man is the spiritual leader of the family.
Being a leader is not just a title but a call to responsibility.
A leader must be loving and respect and love their wives in everything.
A leader must be able to provide for his family.
He must be an instigator of every good thing in the family.
Being a leader doesn’t mean mistreating your wife.
It doesn’t mean forcing her to accept your terrible decisions.
But we must do everything in accordance with gods laws.
One critical example of how a man can lead with love in the family is God’s relationship with Jesus.
This bible verse explains that God is the head of Christ.
But we know that Christ said, my father and I are one.
They are one in purpose for the universe and the earth.
They are one in love because of the perfect relationship between them.
So, don’t hurt your wife or children because of the concept of a Christian leadership pattern.
A good leader must be able to navigate the affair of the home without causing disunity.
This bible verse wants us to realize and accept God’s position.
Paul knows the troubles of some women understanding the position of God.
That’s why he started by saying, “I want you to realize.”
if we understand God’s purpose for our lives and do them, he is happy and will bless us abundantly.
1 Corinthians 14:40.
40 But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
God hates confusion, chaos, and disorderliness.
But wants everything to be done in an orderly way.
How can God not decide the leadership of a home?
How can God not decide the header of a marriage?
So, who makes the decision?
And who is held responsible for the failings of the family?
God’s understanding is infinite and has created a hierarchy for us to accept.
The man is the head of the family.
He is the leader and must make all the decisions in the family.
But that doesn’t make women unimportant in any way.
Simply put, while the man is the head of the family, the woman is the neck.
Can a man survive and be happy without his wife?
Of course not, so we need each other.
18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
This is another bible verse that we must take seriously.
God has no interest in a woman taking charge of decisions in the family.
He has no interest in a woman teaching a man.
God has no interest in women being church leaders in a mixed congregation.
But they must be submissive to God’s authority and decisions.
In a marriage, the man is the leader of the family.
In a marriage, the man must make vital decisions for the family.
This bible verse reemphasizes the role of a good wife in marriage.
She must be submissive to her husband and obey every decision he takes.
The truth is, over the years, people have tried to redefine submissiveness in marriage.
They have termed it to mean accepting only what benefits a woman.
But the truth is, a woman’s submissiveness in marriage means giving her life to her husband.
She accepts his decision without arguing.
And she loves and respects her husband regardless of the decision he has made.
This is God’s position from the beginning, and we must learn to serve and accept.
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.
When we come to Christ, we submit to his authority.
We accept the powerful nature of God and give reverence to Christ.
In the same way, women must submit to their husbands in everything.
The Bible mentions the phrase “in everything” to stress that man has complete authority over the woman.
In marriage, we must also recognize the importance of submission to a higher authority.
Your husband is the head of the family.
And whether poor, sick, or handicapped, it doesn’t take this role away from him.
The man is the leader of the family and must be respected by the woman in everything.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
But how should a leader behave in marriage?
Should a husband maltreat his wife because of God’s law on submission?
Should a leader force his wife to accept ungodly decisions?
The truth is that husband must treat their wives with love and respect.
They must love their wives as their own bodies.
Can a man hurt himself?
Same way, a leader must not hurt those under him.
He must be caring and loving to every member of his family.
A leader must be understanding and willing to apologize after making bad decisions.
In all, every man must be a good leader and respect their wives.
1 Peter 3:1-6.
1 Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives,
2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
5 For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands,
6 like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.
An excellent Christian wife must learn from Sarah.
Sarah was the wife of Abraham, and he loved and respected her husband all the days of her life.
She was humble and submissive to her husband.
In the same way, we must be submissive to our husbands and respect their decisions.
A good wife must learn to develop her inner beauty.
A woman’s inner beauty refers to her personality and character.
To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”
God’s plan from the beginning was for a woman to be a helpmate.
But things changed quickly after the devil deceived the woman.
God cursed the woman so that her glory would be to her husband.
So, God’s law on submission has been for a long time.
He has not given the wife the power to lead.
The man is the indisputable leader of the family.
1 Timothy 3:12.
12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well.
Being a leader means that we must provide for the family.
We can not be good leaders when our children struggle to survive.
We cannot be good leaders when our family is hungry.
We can’t be good leaders when we cannot manage our families well.
Being a leader means we must work hard for our families.
Secondly, this bible verse encourages us to remain faithful to our wives.
A good leader must be fair and loving.
He must be faithful to his wife and not cheat on her.
1 Corinthians 11:8-9.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13.
1 Peter 5:5.
1 Timothy 4:12.
