Bible Verses About God’s Love For Us: 10 Scriptures to Encourage You

God's Love For Us

Franklin Graham once said

No matter what storm you face, you need to know that God loves you. He has not abandoned you.

God is Love. When we are going through challenges, and there is no hope in sight, we may doubt the love of God.

Does God exist? If he does, why does he let us go through suffering and pain? Why does God allow us to die? Why does he not take my sicknesses away? Are there bible verses about God’s love for us?

There are numerous reasons to believe in the existence of God. The psalmist David said, that it is only a fool that thinks there is no God.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Psalm 14:1

God exists, and not just that. God loves us very much. Forget the challenges that you are going through; forget the pain that comes all over your life from time to time. There is a God that created the world and made man to have dominion over it.

God has shown his love to man over and over again in the bible. He has healed the Sick and raised the dead. He has given us a hope of eternal life if we continue in his ways. It means, he has created a pathway for life after death.

Therefore, when you are going through tribulations, you must remind yourself of God’s plan for you. He never wanted us to suffer or go through pain. The prophet Jeremiah when writing to the Israelites in captivity said

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

What does the bible say about God’s love for us?

What does the bible say about God's love for us

There are numerous stories in the bible that explains the love that God has for us. From the beginning, God had a different plan. A plan to care and provide for us. We only struggle in life because Adam sinned against God.

Through the sin of Adam and Eve, God caused suffering to come upon the earth. Man would suffer for his daily bread. Women will go through pains during childbirth. All forms of tribulations entered the world from one mistake of Adam and Eve.

But, what was God’s original plan? Did God create man to suffer? Why does God allow persecutions among the righteous?

The Bible explains the thoughts of God towards Man. God, after creating the heavens and the earth, he created man in his image to have dominion over everything.

Genesis 1:26-28

“Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

God’s original plan was not for us to suffer. He wanted us to live like kings and princes. However, the Devil stepped in and deceived man to sin against God.

Therefore, whatever challenges you are going through, remember what God’s original plan was. God still loves us dearly and will always be there for us if we continue serving him.

10 Bible Verses About God’s Love For Us

Bible Verses About God's Love For Us

I have compiled several bible verses about Gods unfailing love towards us. I hope it inspires your soul. Read and be blessed.

1.  John 3:16 – God’s never failing love

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

Through the sins of Adam, God original plan was altered. We now live through pain and suffering caused by the devil. However, God is not happy when we have no hope. He is not pleased when we face persecutions.

Through his son, he gave us hope again. He gave us the opportunity to become his people. That anyone that believes in him will live forever.

Think about giving up your trusted son to die for sinners. But God allowed it. He allowed Christ to come into the world and pay for our sins through his death.

Consequently, we now have hope for eternal life. That even after death, there is a promise that we will receive in the end. That we will have a new life, glorious, without the devil to sting us with sin or death.

God has always loved us too. Even as sinners, he still loved us.

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

2.  1 John 4:9-10 –  God’s unconditional love toward us

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins

The phrase “one and only son” should give you an idea of how God loves us. He sent his only trusted son to come to this world to be sacrificed for our sake.

We sinned, not Christ. We disobeyed God, not Christ. Yet, God sent his holy son to come down to this sinful world to be sacrificed for our sake. What manner of Love is this?

If you are going through difficulties, you must remind yourself of God’s love for you. God is indeed a friend for giving us hope to live again after death.

Therefore, do not be troubled about the temptations of this world. If God can send his only son to die for our sake, then he can provide everything we need in life. So, don’t be afraid. If you are sick, put your trust in him. If you are yet to get a Job, believe in God’s love to provide one for you.

Paul, the apostle of Christ, said,

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

3.  1 John 4:16 – God is love

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

God's unconditional love toward us

God created us from the dust. He provided for us. He gave Man a companion. God has from the beginning provided all our needs. Even when we disobeyed him, he still sent his son to die for our sins.

He redeemed us from destruction and gave us hope of his eternal kingdom. Even when facing diverse persecutions, God rescues us. He protects us from the hands of the devil. He heals our diseases and takes away our pain.

Therefore, God is love. You cannot talk about God without mentioning how powerful he is and how kindhearted he is towards us. If we must serve God, we must put on his qualities of love.

For this reason, Christ while on earth said,

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.  John 13:34

4.  Romans 8:37-39

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,

neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord

Why does the devil continue to persecute the righteous? Why did the devil deceive Man to sin?

The devil knows how powerless he is in the sight of God. He was created by God, and he knows God is almighty. He knows that he will be destroyed.

Therefore, because he has no power against the Almighty, he sows the seed of disobedience in our hearts. Each time we sin, God distances himself from our lives. This makes the devil happy.

However, if we diligently follow the instructions of God, there is nothing that can separate his love from us. God has promised to be with us. He has guaranteed to provide for our need at all times. He is all-powerful.

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

God loves us – A true-life story to inspire you

Let me share with you a story about God’s love.

A man visited my friend, a pastor, and was complaining about his problems.

He told him, “I have no Job.” “I am still unmarried even at 40 years”. “Everyone around my life is doing well financially.” “God has forsaken me.”

Then the pastor calmed him down. Ask him to sit down. He brought out a pen and paper. Then divided a page with a vertical line.

On one side he named it “things that are not working for me.” On the other side, he named it “things that are already working for me.”

So, he started asking him questions. Do you have a Job? He said No. Do you have a car? He said no. Are you married? He said No Do you have a house of your own? He said No.

Next, He asked him “Are you kidneys working?” He said yes. “Can you see?” He said yes. “Can you walk?” he said yes. “Have you been admitted this year in the hospital?” he said No. “Have you lost any close friend or family relative this year?” he said No

Then the pastor looked at him and said,

“Let us pray to God.” He continued,

“Father, in the name of Jesus, I know you have never forsaken me. I know you will answer me when I pray. My son says you’ve forsaken him. That you’ve abandoned him. Father, I pray you to stop everything that is working in his life and provide everything that is not working in his life as soon as possible”.

Right away, he stood up. He was angry with the pastor, but then, he realized the truthGod was already doing a lot in his life but never realized it because of his ambitions in life.

God has always loved us. He has always been there for us. Think about the tribulations and trial of others then you will realize that God has always been faithful.

Look around you; there is definitely someone struggling with illness, pain, injuries, heartbreaks, joblessness, sicknesses. But God has spared us. We should be able to appreciate our father and thank him for everything he has done.
