For years, her life seems to be falling apart.

Each time she had her monthly menstrual period, it was so heavy that it almost filled a bucket.

At the time I saw her in the clinic, she had lost so much blood already.

And when I told her she would need surgery and at least 6 pints of blood, she started crying.

But somehow, God kept his word of never forsaking us.

She had a successful surgery and was discharged about two weeks ago.

He, therefore, advised us that we should remain steadfast and determined when these temptations come. It could be the death of a close friend or even a family member, but don’t be discouraged. Other times, it may be humiliation and disappointment, but do not lose hope.

In all situations that threaten our confidence in Christ, we must endure the pain knowing that God will bless us in the end.

There are many times we are faced with obvious difficulties. Sometimes, we are tempted by the devil for months and years. However, James the apostle of Jesus Christ is saying, it is not unusual to experience temptations when you serve Christ.

As Christians, we will meet various kinds of temptations and tribulations. But we must endure and remain steadfast in Christ.

For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake Philippians 1:29

Being a Christian does not make you immune from temptations. They will come, and even more. But we must suffer as Christ suffered for us. He gave his life for us through suffering. If we do this, we will receive eternal life.

The temptations of the devil cannot end until our death. While we are alive, the devil will try to trick us to sin. But Paul the apostle of Christ is saying that even in trial, we should endure and wait on the lord.

When you are troubled, you need to remember the promise of the Most-High God. He has promised us Abraham blessings and eternal life. He has promised us to hope even after death.

To achieve God’s promise, we must continue in the ways of God. We must live in righteousness and run away from sin. If we endure the pain and live according to God’s will, then we will be saved.

Do not put your hope in this life only. Things in this world are transient and will pass away. However, God will transform us into a spiritual body and bless us with everlasting life.

Paul the apostle of Christ said,

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. 1 Corinthians 15:19

If we fail to endure the hard times, we may fall into sin and lose the hope God has promised us. However, if we continue in the ways of Christ, we will unquestionably be blessed by God.

9.  2 Timothy 2:12 – God will deny us if we fail to suffer for his sake

If we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us

Suffering for the sake of the truth is pleasing in the eyes of God. Our almighty father wants us to do the right things always. He wants us to follow the footsteps of Christ. If we do that and endure through suffering, we will reign with him.

What does the Bible say about endurance?

What does the bible say about endurance

The Bible is explicit about the challenges we will face. God is aware that we have to hold on and struggles to enter the kingdom of God. But, unfortunately, because of our gift of eternal glory, the devil wishes to tempt us to sin through pain.

An excellent example of endurance and perseverance is Job. He was tempted by the devil and lost everything he had. His riches disappeared in second. In a day, he lost his lovely children. Finally, the devil struck him will sickness that his wife even persuaded him to curse God and die.

His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!” Job 2:9

In all, he endured. He understood what it takes to serve God. He knows that all things worked for the best for anyone that truly believes in God. So, he stayed firm.

In the end, God was happy with Him. He remembered his troubles and blessed him because he endured and was patient. God restored his riches and blessed him with the most beautiful children at that time. So his latter days were better.

So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. Job 42:12

Therefore, endurance, perseverance, and determination in God’s service are critically required. Or else, we fall by the wayside when the devil tempts us.
