Bible verse about the beauty of a woman
1 Peter 3:3-4 – Scripture about inner beauty
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
The Bottom Line
The English dictionary defines the word “beautiful” as “pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically.”
In other words, a beautiful woman fascinates the mind and is pleasing to our souls.
They are so attractive to look upon and are endowed with beauty from all parts of their body.
Naturally, women are created more attractive than men.
They have attractive skin with a lovely melodious voice that is genuinely charming.
But this isn’t all about beauty.
There are two main types of beauty, as explained in the scriptures.
The external one (which we can all see) and the one that radiates from within.
External beauty is more of a worldly charm.
That is, people are quick to identify with the beautiful nature of a woman by merely looking at her face and other parts of her body.
And for this reason, lots of women try to improve their beauty artificially.
They buy all sorts of creams, pieces of jewelry, expensive hair, and even visit a plastic surgeon to enhance their looks.
But the truth is, a woman’s beauty is more than external looks.
That’s why Peter says, “the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.”
To be clear, the external beauty of a woman fades with time.
I could remember my mum not looking as attractive as when she was younger.
And yet, she was still a virtuous woman in my dad’s eyes.
That’s where true beauty lies.
As explained in the scriptures, Godly beauty means a respectful, loving, caring, and God-fearing woman that always makes a good judgment.

so one’s life reflects the heart.
he who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.

1 Timothy 2:9-10 – Scripture about Godly woman
I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10 but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
The Bottom Line
We’ve already seen from the scriptures that a woman’s beauty isn’t just with her looks.
But what does it mean to be a Godly woman?
There are many God-fearing women in the scriptures that we can learn from.
These women professed their beauty through their service to God and their husbands.
Think about Sarah, Mary, Hanah, and many other women in the scriptures.
A God-fearing woman obeys God’s tenets and keeps his laws.
She loves the ways of God and eschews any contrary opinion to sin.
She is unwilling to sin or put on clothing that exposes her body.
A God-fearing woman carries her body with dignity and respects her parents and husband.
The truth is, a virtuous and beautiful woman is a dedicated child of God.
And that’s what Paul was describing in his letter to Timothy.
Godly women should profess an inner beauty that is acceptable to God.
God doesn’t care about how we reshape our bodies to look more beautiful.
He doesn’t care about our selfish nature to put on expensive clothing.
He is more concerned about serving him with faithfulness and dedication.
